Lapacho is the inner bark of Tabebuia impetiginosa, the Lapacho tree, and a few other trees in the same family. It is also known as Pau d’Arco, Tahuari or Tahuari. Lapacho is widely used in the traditional herbal medicine of South America. It has become famous thanks to its anti-cancer properties. Modern scientific research confirms many of its traditional properties. Pau d’Arco bark is usually administered as a liquid extract (tea) or a tincture or in capsule form.
